The best public transport to each airport in Barcelona
Josep Tarradellas Barcelona – El Prat Airport
Located 12 km from Barcelona, it is the largest airport in Catalonia and the second largest in Spain.
One of the quickest options is to travel by subway. Line L9 of the TMB – Transportes Metropolitanos de Barcelona connects the airport terminals to stations such as Parc Nou, Collblanc or Zona Universitária. The journey takes 30 minutes. The ticket costs 4.5€ and you can buy it at the station.
A train is also a good option for a short trip. The line R2 of RENFE departs from Terminal 2 of the airport and reaches Barcelona in 35 minutes. El Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona – Sants and Passeig de Gràcia are some of the stations on this train line. The one-way ticket costs 4.60€ and can be purchased at the Terminal.
You can also choose to travel by bus. There are lots of lines available:
From 7.90€, with the Aerobús Barcelona you can reach the city center in 35 minutes. Line A1 corresponds to terminal 1 and line A2 to terminal 2. Tickets can be purchased at both terminals. In Barcelona, you will pass by Plaça Espanya, Gran Via Urgell, Plaça Universitat and Plaça Catalunya.
Bus 46 from the TMB – Transportes Metropolitanos de Barcelona passes through both airport terminals and reaches Plaça Espanya, via Prat de Llobregat in 50 minutes. Line L99 connects terminal 1 to Castelldefels, with stops at St. Boi de Llobregat, Viladecans and Gavà.
The Line L77 connects the airport with Sant Joan Despí, passing through Prat de Llobregat, St. Boi de Llobregat and Cornellà de Llobregat. These are options that take the longest time, but they are also the cheapest. Your tickets (one way) cost 2.40€. You can buy it on the bus.
Night bus service is also available at the same price. Line N16 departs from terminal 2 and passes through Castelldefels, Viladecans and Gavà. Line N17 connects terminal 1 to Plaça Catalunya. The N18 connects both terminals and Plaça Catalunya. These trips usually take about an hour.
Girona – Costa Brava Airport
Located 103 km from the center of Barcelona, this airport mainly serves the region of Catalonia. It is widely used as an alternative to Barcelona Airport – El Prat, as it also offers a connection to the Catalan capital.

The best choice to reach the center of Barcelona is the bus. Line 604 of the Sagalés Airport Line connects Girona to the center in 70 minutes. A one-way ticket costs 16€ and can be purchased online or at the airport.
Reus Airport
Reus is the smallest of the three Catalan airports and also the furthest away from Barcelona. Reus is 105 km south of the city center. It is mainly used by tourists looking for the bathing area of Cambrils and Salou.
The only public transport service available to the center of Barcelona is the bus line La Hispano Igualadina. One-way tickets cost 15.50€. The journey time is 90 minutes.
Taxi, Uber or Private Transfer
With private transport, you’ll always be able to get around faster. Of all, it is the most expensive option.
You will find the taxi service, available 24 hours a day. Or Uber. The prices always depend on the airport where you are and the destination.
From Barcelona – El Prat Airport, the trip to the center takes 25 minutes and costs around 35€. If you are in Girona, the trip will take a maximum of 70 minutes and will cost between 130€ and 180€. From Reus, the minimum price is around 170€, with the journey taking around 90 minutes.
You can also rent a pickup or private transfer. From El Prat, the price is around 40€. In Girona and Reus, it will cost between 160€ and 180€.
